Locuz has won few CRN awards during the previous years, all being in the cat of “Best SI, South India”.
Today we have been conferred with “COMPANY OF THE YEAR” Award by CRN – a very special National and highest echelon Award. It reflects our commitment to Quality Services, Technology Vision, HR Practices, Unique Skills, Capable Team and most importantly Customer Satisfaction.
Thanks to all our Customers and Partners.
BIG Thank you and Congratulations to every Locuzite.
Cheers!

I will continue to post here, but may tweet more often. Micro blog may just work better for me. My tweets…

We are organising an event on 20-Aug-2009. The event will cover Security framework in the service-oriented economy.
You will hear from us about the “critical shift” with IdM and Access Management in today’s environment that is brought on by increased service standards, improved systems and business agility.
If SOA is the way to go, understanding the “critical shift” may be equally important.
Here is the invitation.
Go thru the program details, and do register if you wish to attend.
Cheers!

The paper I presented got approved and I have confirmed to speak.
Hopefully the first INTEROP in India will match the scale and popularity it is identified with.
If you are visiting, ping me, I will be happy to meet.
Cheers!

Next week Cisco would announce their Unified Computing strategy codenamed “California”. These are blade servers that would sit right in middle of the Data Centre unlike all other Cisco products that found place in the network closet.
This in good sense is SOI we wanted to achieve and were seeking product maturity for levels of automation it would demand.
In our definition of SOI Orchestration is most vital and hopefully would soon be available across all Data Centre components. I am upbeat about the Cisco announcement.
Unified Computing = SOI, if I may conclude.
Cheers!

Chandrayaan-1 India’s unmanned lunar exploration mission by ISRO, has been successfully launched. It has several science goals of finding the still unanswered questions about Moon.
The mission makes us all proud for a second reason too that we at Locuz lead by Preetam Oswal made a contribution. We architected and deployed mission critical Data Storage Infrastructure that over different phases will stage valuable imagery and scientific data transmitted by the spacecraft while orbiting the moon over X-Band at the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC).

We are proud to be associated with the mission.
Cheers!

Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest scientific experiment is embarked and it will get intense over next few months. The current stage is warm-up and calibration. The scope of the experiment is massive. While we would have all read and heard about the complexity involved including the huge accelerator ring, the collision and guiding technique, the interplanetary space etc and therefore the expected outcome thru findings – Higgs boson, quark-gluon plasma and beauty quark or ‘b quark’ – is hard to get to terms with.

I am excited, more so to realize how the world is coming together and collaborating by exploiting scientific computing and power of network to aid an experiment of this scale. The computing resources within CERN aren’t enough in spite of being really enormous and therefore data is being provided to hundreds of sites around the globe to thousands of physicists contributing to the experiment.
The CERN facility hosts cluster with over 15,000+ cores and is magnitude of several 10 TFlops, plus with over other 6000 PC’s being part of the facility, the storage is 7000 TB as they embark; but as LHC runs full capacity for over 200 days the need to store and process data would change to a magnitude never used before. Every second, 600 million particle collisions are measured, and scientists filter out the thousand or so that are interesting. The electronic ‘photo’ of each event requires 1 to 2Mb of storage. And thru the Tiered model of computation over 100,000 computers are likely to participate.
The data storage requirement will eventually be in the order of 20 petabytes per year.
All the scientists in CERN and across the world demanded a new approach to data storage, management, sharing and analysis – tasks handled by the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) project. I had a chance to know little about the LCG from a scientist in TIFR at Mumbai sometime ago. The LCG unlike the conventional Grid is a less overhead protocol and much more efficient.

The Interconnects in use and the job submissions (bear in mind this is not HPC but HTC – High Throughput Computing) is tremendous.
I am glued and will follow the progress closely.
Cheers!

This day every year is very special for all of us at Locuz. It was on the 11th April ’08 at Leonia, an exotic location in Hyderabad.
PCD btw is Plan Communication Day. I worked hard for this post – this is my first movie production and direction
Have fun!

This event going by History promises to be good. We are one of the sponsors, have a booth and also speaking. The topic I chose to speak is “Infrastructure for Adaptive Enterprise – SOI & SOM way“. I cannot think of anything better with Businesses becoming more and more demanding with IT response; and perhaps SOI & SOM being the only way forward to be truly Adaptive Enterprise – you bet!
Do visit us at our booth in Hall # 2 if you are participating – treat this to be our formal invite.
See you, Cheers!

The merger announcement week was a busy one for all of us at Locuz and Choice; there are several activities we are lining up thru the next few weeks to integrate.
Customers to both the companies should be able to seek tremendous advantage right from the beginning. Our teams are excited and are readying themselves to revisit the clients we have higher value to offer.
One thing that Locuz can today pride is about the way we build our company with our people, customers and partners. It reflects in the message Ketan sent us and I am particularly thankful that he allowed us to play at the announcement event.
Such messages from people who build themselves and the company are very inspiring.
One thing that changes – makes us work harder to retain the purpose and values.
Thanks!
