Are You Cloud Ready?

Cloud Readiness Assessment

There could be multiple objectives for an organization to consider a move to the cloud for eg. Agility, Cost Savings, Flexibility, Continuous Iteration, and Innovation, Platform Breadth, or others. Similarly, all the workloads of an organization may not be suitable and compliant for cloud migration. To help you answer and make relevant and effective choices, it is important for you to do a Cloud Readiness Assessment.

Our Cloud Readiness Assessment approach includes interactive consultations with stakeholders to determine business practices, goals, and opportunities to arrive at a plan categorizing Applications to Re-host/Re-platform/Re-factor for Cloud.

A thorough analysis of existing IT assets is completed using the right assessment tools covering IT Infrastructure, Security posture & Risk assessment, DC environment, TCO Analysis, etc. Some non-technical aspects should also factor into your decisions about which applications should stay on-premises: licensing, support, and regulatory.

For a leading Service provider of contingent workforce management and service procurement solutions.

As part of an effort towards continuous innovation and to build greater agility and superior compliance in the business, the company wanted to revamp the existing Dev & Test IT Infrastructure. It wanted to do so by evaluating multi-cloud platforms and deploying secure means for developers and users to access the Test & Dev Infra.

As part of this effort, Locuz carried out a comprehensive IT Infra & Cloud Readiness Assessment for them and provided a Plan & Design(with validated test cases) that can serve as a blueprint for it to execute further; both on the Cloud as well as on the Compliance side. The blueprint also included a comprehensive migration plan of all Dev & Test servers from On-Prem to cloud, ensuring that the network is optimized for superior user experience and deploying security(like DLP) solutions to protect.

Where are you in your Cloud Migration Journey?

Cloud Migration Plan

With the Cloud Migration Plan, we help you determine the right objectives & help you get clarity on what your Migration plan could look like. To be able to create a robust Migration plan we require to take your objectives into account, along with the age and architecture of your existing applications, infrastructure, and their constraints. Next, you need to understand the dependencies between applications and begin to consider what types of migration strategies you will need to employ to meet your business case objectives.

We provide a practical roadmap and scalable methodology for moving large application portfolios to the cloud. Our Cloud Migration Methodology is a five-phased approach where we Assess, Classify, Restructure, Migrate, and Optimize.

Is Cloud Economics part of your Cloud Optimization tactic?

Cloud Economics

Saving money is one of the key reasons why businesses today want to move to the cloud. Cloud services provide the opportunity for you to use only what you need and pay only for what you use. By moving to the consumption-based model of the cloud you can increase innovation within the organization. However, one of the biggest challenges of the consumption-based model is the lack of predictability.

You need to balance agility and innovation against cost. One of the benefits today of being a business in the Cloud era is the opportunity to use the Total Cost of Operation (TCO) analysis methodologies to compare the costs of owning a traditional data center with the costs of operating your environment using Hyper-Scale Cloud services.

As multiple teams spin up instances to test new ideas, it is important to control and optimize your Cloud spending as your usage increases over time. Don’t target cost savings as the end goal. Instead, optimize spending by focusing on business growth opportunities that can result from innovative ideas.

Case Reference

Deployed a Multi-Cloud Strategy for different types of workloads after a detailed Cloud TCO Assessment. The Dev & Test infrastructure migrated from on-premise DC to GCP.

A secured consolidated VDI setup with DLP built on GCP for the developers from different geographies for quick desktop provision, faster communication between clients & server, prevent any code upload/download, secure mobility, central monitor/manageability & backup of entire Dev & Test infra and better TCO. The production applications deployed in GCP Cloud with end-to-end availability.

Where are you in your Cloud Governance Journey?

Cloud Governance

Cloud Governance refers to the decision making processes, criteria and policies involved in the planning, architecture, acquisition, deployment, operation and management of the Cloud computing capability. To put it simply, Cloud Governance is the people, process, and technology associated with your Cloud Infra, Security, & operations.

However, one should not fall in the trap of confusing Cloud Governance to be the same as Cloud Management. Cloud Governance involves a framework with a defined set of policies and standard practices. This could include policies for cost optimization, resiliency, security, or compliance.

We at Locuz help you develop a cloud governance model that enables you to improve operational integrity, reliability, performance, and transparency using the cloud. We bake in Cloud Security Architecture Design & Review in your Cloud Governance strategy in a way that is integrated with existing Enterprise IT governance processes, policies, boards, & tools.
